Hershel grew up as a MoonSugrr adored by his family and neighborhood for having chocolate features. He resented this. Everyone would always say to him “you must LOVE chocolate!” This always made him roll his eyes in annoyance. He didn’t love chocolate. To be honest, the attention he received made him recoil from chocolate. He found it annoying to constantly be compared to it as if that was his complete identity. So Hershel never ate chocolate, pushing it away at every chance.

One day, Hershel was famished and in line at the grocery store when he decided to pick up a milk chocolate bar to try. On his walk home, he unwrapped the bar, snapped off a piece (Hershel liked the sound it made when it broke), and popped it in his mouth. The moment the piece touched his tongue - his eyes widened, his pupils dilated, and he completely froze.

“………..….woah” he thought, “that is the best thing I’ve ever tasted.” He remembered trying it when he was a young SugrrPup, but he didn’t remember it being THIS GOOD.

From that moment on, Hershel completely embraced chocolate. Now whenever someone says “you must LOVE chocolate!”, Hershel replies, “more than you can imagine!” with a big friendly smile. Hershel has also taken his love of the sweet treat to the next level, traveling throughout MoonMills looking for chocolate shops to try new varieties.

When he learned about the types on Earth, he has since been obsessed to visit to see what he’s missing. He’s heard rumors about German, Belgium, Italian, French, and Swiss chocolate that keep him awake at night wondering. And Hersey, Pennsylvania! That’s at the top of his bucket list!

Hershel’s newfound love of chocolate has been a major influence on his many new friendships. Those friends have gotten to know him well, learning about him and his other interests. So instead of Hershel fearing that chocolate was seen as his complete identity, it has actually been a catalyst for others to truly get to know him.
